[54:23] Hey guys, when looking at a backlink profile for a PBN domain, how would you identify spam links?

First, you want to check if the PBN is indexed in Google. If it’s being crawled, then you can take a look at its backlinks in Ahrefs. You’ll be looking for the same telltale signs of spam that you would for any website. This can mean looking to see if the PBN has any contextual backlinks from authoritative domains. Instead of finding these quality links, you could see a bunch of random/non-relevant directory links with money anchors or auto generated spun content. Spam links don’t look like real natural links. However, quality links look like they are coming from niche-relevant sites. We keep these considerations in mind (like having unique content) for our PBN setup service.

[1:05:10] How important is schema these days for ranking? Can a site rank without schema or is it preferable to have it?

We don’t think schema is necessary to rank. We also don’t spend much time implementing schema either. We just do the bare minimum and focus instead on solid foundational on-page SEO. Having said that, using schema will only help you (especially depending on your niche). If you’re ranking on the first page, having schema will help you get a featured snippet or passage indexing.

[1:09:01] How important is a GMB for ranking?

GMB is very important for local SEO. For example, Map Pack gets you the most traffic. We advise all local sites to get a GMB because it makes your business look trustworthy. However, you can still rank organically without a GMB and you don’t necessarily need one to rank.

[1:12:43] Can an unnatural anchor profile prevent first page rankings? I am struggling to get onto Page 1 from Page 2, and my anchors are unnatural (over 90% generic anchors).

Yes, having an unnatural anchor profile can hurt your ability to rank higher (we tend to think of unnatural as meaning too many money anchors). In your case, you should diversify your anchor profile by adding more branded, URL and money anchors. Although having 90% generic anchors is a lot, it looks much better than having over 90% money anchors.

[1:15:45] Is it safe to keyword stuff your GMB title?

Even though keyword stuffing may work in the short term in some situations, it’s never really a good idea to do it on a regular basis. It’s not a best practice. It’s an even worse idea to practice keyword stuffing with GMB titles in our opinion.
